Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a para-professional designer, who supports professional engineers.
They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

Duration
This program will be delivered over a period of 92 weeks 20 hours per week by 74 teaching weeks and 18 weeks of holidays.
Credit Transfer
Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through professional work experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. All claims for RPL and Credit Transfer should be made upon enrolment in the course and must be received by the Administration within two (2) weeks of the commencement.
Qualification
On successful completion of this course the student would be awarded RII60520 Advanced Diploma Of Civil Construction Design which is a nationally recognised qualification. After successfully completing the Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, students may apply for the: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). Students who do not complete all units and/or works placement may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a RII60520 Advanced Diploma Of Civil Construction Design.

Participants are provided with advice on employment and training options throughout the delivery of the program. After achieving the RII60520 Advanced Diploma Of Civil Construction Design, candidates may choose to undertake Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
